Question for the Cop Haters


If you are White and want to crucify every cop that puts on a uniform, please play along with me for just a few seconds. First you need to establish your utter distain for the racism evident among police everywhere, especially in Toronto, where the Ontario Human Rights Commission proudly announced that Toronto cops shoot and kill Black people with regularity. The fact that this narrative is an absolute lie does not matter because we don't care about the truth.

OK, so here we go...Ted Bundy was a serial killer in the US. He was a white man. As far as we know, he acted on his own when he kidnapped, raped and murdered innocent women back in the 1970's. We all agree that he was a terrible human being.

Now, based on the logic and careful examination of the facts by all pro-athletes, BLM, media, politicians and apparently everyone under the age of 30, police officers are all racists. In Toronto they also have no training on how to deal with emotionally disturbed individuals and even go to the extent of pushing young Black women off of apartment balconies. Nobody has apologized for this comment so it must be true.

So continuing with this logic which society is clearly supporting, all white men (because Ted Bundy was white) living on this planet are murderers. They also go around kidnapping and raping young women and other white people allow them to get away with it because that is what white people do. Each and every white man should therefore receive the same punishment as Ted Bundy and be executed. I don't want to sound harsh but that would help to abolish any threat to the public.

I could continue with this analogy but I think I have made my point. I also realize some of you are about to lose your mind and that is kind of funny...in a very sad way. 

No matter how ridiculous this all sounds to you, our world has completely lost their minds. Racism exists in society and has forever. Each of you reading this has the DNA called racist. That is because, as the Bible tells us, our hearts are wicked. We are all sinners. The solution to combat racism is not more training for our cops. The solution is changing the hearts of man from the inside out. Jesus says that he is the only one that can do that. Any other solution (even a religious one) will demand a change from the outside in. If that comment bothers you, I question whether you really want this mess to be resolved. Note: I am not holding my breath.

Cops are human beings with families. Much has been made about three young children in the back of that SUV. What about the children of our cops? What about their spouses? Totally innocent of any wrongdoing, other than being a cop, these families are being abused by media and politicians and in some cases, even by their leaders. Does anyone care? Please get your own houses in order before pointing fingers at our cops. Thank you for reading!

For the past few months I have been seeing posts on FB from cop haters that is quite troubling. To me, each one is a potential cop killer or at the very least, encouraging some lunatic with mental health issues, to do the same. You may have seen them as "citizens" who insist they have the right to walk up to a cop from behind with a camera/cell phone, and record what they are doing at something as simple as a traffic stop. It is all about their rights under the US constitution apparently and when the cop advises them it was a stupid thing to do and to step back, they quickly become aggressive and ask for the name and badge number followed by a demand to see a sergeant. It is comical in some ways but very disturbing in so many other ways. It seems the only purpose for the citizen to approach the cop, is to garner a reaction and film the entire confrontation which is solely initiated by the one holding the cell phone.  That is what our society has become and politicians are too...

Putting It Out There

I am a Christian who happens to be a chaplain. Earlier in my life I was a pastor for 14 years and a missionary for another two. I have personally experienced the transforming power of God in my own life and seen it in countless others. If I was testifying in a courtroom, under oath, this statement would be 100% fact. Yet many in the world today hear these statements from Christians and would suggest we would be perjuring ourselves in a courtroom if we spoke in such a way. I use this analogy because within the mental health profession there are many who absolutely do not accept that God has any role in healing an individual. In the policing community where I am a chaplain, it is a constant battle (and that is the correct word) to be heard. Pitmasters BBQ

This past week has been a tough one for the policing community in Toronto and the surrounding area called the GTA. We lost two outstanding officers through the madness of others and yet God somehow still managed to orchestrate something that brought a measure of peace into the week. A gentleman in the church I attend, started something called Pitmasters Appreciation BBQ's for First Responders in Peel Region. For the past 3 years, First Responders have been appreciated through the efforts of various church and community groups. This year, I had the privilege of offering this in Toronto at 11 Division where I am Chaplain. We planned this 3 months in advance and yet God knew ahead of time why Saturday, September 17th would have a greater significance for each of us. We fed over 125 TPS officers from 3 different divisions, including the newly appointed Chief of Police. We were able to put a smile on the faces of those who serve us each day.
